A Punky Wedding
Another celebrity couple to get married in 2010 were Joel Madden (31) and Nicole Richie (29). Joel Madden, better known as singer of the punk-rock band Good charlotte and Nicole Richie, better known for being Paris Hilton?s companion in The Simple Life got married after 4 years of dating. The couple have 2 children together and have been engaged since February 2010. The couple got married on the 5th of December 2010 and yes, it was an over-the-top affair. Believe ir or not, an elephant was involved! The elephant was chosen because Nicole thinks believes that elephants are bringers of luck. Nicole, who was previously engaged to the late DJ A.M. found dead in 2009 from a drug overdose, said she could use all the luck available for this wedding. The wedding took place in her father?s house; the famous Lionel Richie. The couple spent extravagant amounts of money on the event and for the transformation of Lionel?s house. Two tents were placed outside and the wedding took place inside them. The whole ceremony had an Old Hollywood feel, and a stage was even built on top of the swimming pool.A staggering 130 family members and friends were present at the wedding. Some of the famous people present were; Gwen Stefani, Kris Jenner and Samantha Ronson. Ronson was also one of Richie?s bridesmaids. Masha Gordong, Richie?s best friend, was her maid of honour. Benji Madden who is Joel?s twin brother, was his best man. It is still a mystery if Paris Hilton was there or not.The gown that Richie wore was made by Marchesa and is worth an astonishing $20,000. The wedding bands were designed by the famous jeweller Neil Lane, who also designed Richie?s engagement ring.We wish Nicole and Joel the best of luck!!!!
